A Platform for Strategic Dialogue and Engagement
Africa–Europe Synergy is designed to foster structured dialogue between African and European stakeholders, promoting a deeper understanding of their respective priorities, interests and opportunities for cooperation. Conceived to move beyond ad hoc or purely sectoral approaches, it facilitates structured exchanges on shared economic, institutional and strategic challenges. Through restricted-format meetings and high-level discussions, the platform enables participants to better understand each other’s priorities, constraints and interests, identify areas of convergence and create the conditions for long-term partnerships. Africa–Europe Synergy reflects European Strategic Initiative’s conviction that the Africa–Europe relationship represents one of the defining strategic partnerships of our time, requiring continuous, meaningful and trust-based frameworks for dialogue and engagement.

A Framework for Dialogue on European Strategic Issues
Strategic Dialogues is a flexible and cross-cutting framework designed to address, depending on the context, sensitive European issues such as defence, migration, security and strategic resources. These dialogues may take various forms — targeted exchanges, restricted meetings or ad hoc formats — and are conducted within carefully tailored settings adapted to the nature of the issues and the stakeholders involved. They aim to clarify positions, foster mutual understanding and help identify areas of convergence on issues of common interest. Strategic Dialogues enables European Strategic Initiative to facilitate meaningful exchanges on complex topics requiring trust, discretion and a nuanced approach.
